Art Instruction
with local artist Ally Queen - Mondays at the Mt. Airy
Senior and Community Center
Awareness Through Movement
Part of the
Feldenkrais Method®, an educational system designed to
improve human functioning. Mondays at the
Mt. Airy Senior and Community Center
Etiquette for Everyday Fun, interactive etiquette and
manners courses for kids. Tues, Weds and Thurs at the Mt.
Airy Senior and Community Center
Karate
taught by Taekwondo-Arnis Academy
instructor Carl Minkel. Classes for ages 7 to adult, every Tuesday and
Thursday
Knitting A class for beginners as well as
past knitters wishing to brush up on old skills, we will cover everything
you need to complete a project of your choice. Classes for all ages are
held Wednesdays at the Mt. Airy Senior and Community Center
Shape Up Now Fitness class with aerobics, workout and toning for adults. Tuesday and
Thursday evenings in the Mt. Airy Elementary School Cafeteria
Sticks in Motion Improve balance,
coordination, speed, power, agility and timing in a fun, intuitive format.
The rhythmic two-person person energy drills of the Filipino stick
fighting art "Modern Arnis" is the vehicle for learning and no
martial arts experience is required. Wednesdays at the Mt. Airy Senior and
Community Center
T’ai Chi
Thursdays at the Mt. Airy Senior and Community Center
Video Gaming "Wii Play @ the Library". Gaming
action with our Nintendo Wii and Xbox systems at the Mt.
Airy Branch Library!
Volleyball
Youth Volleyball Skills Clinic, Wednesdays in the Parr's Ridge
Elementary School Gym
Yoga classes for ages
8-years to Adult. Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Mt. Airy Senior
and Community Center

Recreation Council
2009 Volunteer of the Year
Pat Bostic was recognized as the Woodbine
Recreation Council's 2009 Volunteer of the Year in a ceremony held
November 4 at The Robert Moton Center in Westminster.
Pat was recognized for over 30
years of volunteerism in both Mount Airy and Woodbine recreational
prgrams.
The event was
sponsored by the Carroll County Department of Recreation and Parks.
